How to Unlock the Bootloader on Umidigi Devices

STEP 1: Install Android SDK

First and foremost, you will have to install the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC. This is the official ADB and Fastboot binary provided by Google and is the only recommended one. So download it and then extract it to any convenient location on your PC. Doing so will give you the platform-tools folder, which will be used throughout this guide.

STEP 2: Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on Umidigi

Next up, you will also have to enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on your device. The former will make your device recognizable by the PC in ADB mode. This will then allow you to boot your device to Fastboot Mode. On the other hand, OEM Unlocking is required to carry out the bootloader unlocking process.

So head over to Settings > About Phone > Tap on Build Number 7 times > Go back to Settings > System > Advanced > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking.

STEP 3: Boot Umidigi to Fastboot Mode

  1. Now connect your device to the PC via USB cable. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled.
  2. Then head over to the platform-tools folder, type in CMD in the address bar, and hit Enter. This will launch the Command Prompt.command prompt
  3. Type in the following command in the CMD window to boot your device to Fastboot Mode
    adb reboot bootloader

  4. To verify the Fastboot connection, type in the below command and you should get back the device ID, as shown in the image.

STEP 4: Unlock Bootloader of Umidigi Devices

  2. You ‘might’ now get a confirmation message on your device. Use the Volume keys to select Unlock the Bootloader option, and the Power key to confirm your decision.
  3. The data on your device will now be wiped and it should then boot to the OS. However, if it boots to Fastboot Mode, then you may use the below command to boot your device to the system:
    fastboot reboot

FAQ 1: Fastboot Flashing Unlock Command Is Not Working

On some Umidigi devices, the fastboot flashing unlock might not work. If that is the case with your device as well, then you should execute the following command instead of the above one:

    With OEM unlocked and USB debugging enabled through Dev options on my UMIDIGI A11 Pro Max I can’t get Fastboot to recognize the device through CMD when connected to Fastboot on the phone using a fresh install of SDK platform tools. I tried various ways of connecting/reconnecting and rebooting to no avail. Any recommendations? Thanks.

      I had the same issue. I installed the adb and fastboot drivers for my device and then I could proceed
